Traveled to Arizona with my dad, flying from MSP to Phoenix. We were able to cover Sedona, Flagstaff, the Grand Canyon South Rim and Bright Angel, Lake Havasua, Zion National Park, Tempe and a Botanical Garden and a museum. I have a habit of messing up the rental car bookings so we had to come back to Phoenix on the 18th, return the car, pick up the new car and then cruise around the metro for a day and a half. When we left it was 99 degrees in Phoenix. I feel like Utah has to be one of the most beautiful states in the US, maybe second to Montana. Still need to do Monument Valley, Mexican Hat and a few other parks in this region. Hoping to get a Eurovan by the end of this year, so maybe next winter/spring. Also, stoked to find out my dad is in better shape that I thought when it comes to hiking, he was ahead of me most of the time on Angel’s Landing and has less of a fear of heights compared to me. He doesn’t know it yet, but I booked a trip for us to go to Peru this fall after returning from this trip. This has been two years in the making and I’m pretty sure when he said it was “on his bucket list” he sort of assumed he’d never make it there. Hoping to surprise him with this for Father’s Day- before I leave for Glacier in June. Yaaasss.
